We expect good attendance from pupils which is important in order to maximise each child’s learning
and progress for this reason as of September 2013 no absence for normal family holidays will be
authorised but the school office still needs to be advised in advance if your child will be absent from school.
Authorised Absences
Include illness and medical appointments when school is informed by phone or in writing.
Unauthorised Absences
Include any absence for which permission has not been granted and school has
not been notified of the reason for the absence.
Illness
If your child is ill and unable to attend please remember:
A letter will be sent to parents if we are not informed of the reason for absence, as we need this for our
records.
Lateness
If your child is late to school for any reason it is important that a responsible adult reports to the school office after bringing the child into school through the front entrance. They will then be signed into school by a member of the school staff.
If you need to take your child out of school prior to the end of the school day, the child will be
signed out of school by a member of the school staff.
