The ability to use computers is an important cross curricular skill. We have computers in every classroom. Every child uses a variety of programs to develop and support a range of curriculum activities, bringing computer technology into their everyday experience.
Safe use of the internet is taught frequently as standalone lessons and when the children are using the Internet to support their learning. The school has a Safer Internet code devised by the children and staff. All of our children, staff, and Governors sign an Acceptable Use Agreement.
From the time children start school they use the computer, learning to use the standard keyboard, the concept keyboard and the computer ‘mouse’. They will then progress onto word processing packages to enable them to organise, develop and present their ideas in a variety of forms.
Databases are used and created by the children alongside graphic and simulation packages.
Our children are also taught coding skills across the school.
We have a bank of laptops and Ipads to support our learning.
