In our geographical studies we aim to extend the children’s interest, knowledge and understanding of people and places both near and far. Children are taught to understand and use maps, atlases, globes and compasses. They will study places ranging from the local environment and familiar contexts, to comparative regions of the UK and abroad.
We teach the children to identify features in the landscape alongside the appreciation of wider environmental issues linked to resources and population distribution.
The school was awarded the Silver Geography Kitemark in recognition of its commitment to teaching geography.
